I Can't Help Being a Girly Girl

I think all people go through phases and all people have ruts. I think I've been in a kind of fashion rut ever since I started college mainly because I never bring enough clothes with me to school. I end up wearing the same clothes over and over again. I'm not the only one though....Lindsay Lohan needs to step it up. I am so tired of seeing her on the streets. What happened to her trend-setting days with Nicole??? I'm just glad she decided to go dark again with her hair. The blonde only made her look cheap and tired.

Here she is with her dead looking blonde hair. She looks great in her Herve Leger dress though.

Yay for Brunette hair! I prefer red but at least she's making some progress. I would improve the facial expressions. She never smiles anymore! Not loving this outfit either...

I am officially trying to get out of my so called fashion rut. I have been wearing a lot of black since summer ended. Actually I was wearing a lot of black during summer too. I can say that I am done with my "edgy" phase and ready to go back to the old me.

RUFFLES AND LACE AND PETER PAN NECKLINES AND BALLET FLATS.

Deep down, I am as girly as it gets. I prefer preppy over hip anytime. That's probably why I am attracted to anything that's got ruffles. These J. Crew tops are on the top of my wish list for spring.
Note the ruffles on both of the collars...
Actually the whole J.Crew website is pretty fabulous. The newest collection's ads were taken in Rome, and the pictures and film are gorgeous. Go see it for yourself!

If I had some fancy event to go to and lots of extra cash to spend, I'd get my hands on this Escada dress! But I unfortunately, I have fulfilled neither requirements. I was okay with just looking every time I passed by the window display at South Coast. It's no longer there because the new Spring collection just came in.

And.....I just thought I'd put this out there: I really want to get nonprescription glasses. This girl (photograph from The Sartorialist) is the reason why I want glasses. I only know of one place that sells these "reading" glasses- American Apparel. But at $50 a pop I'm going to have to keep thinking about it.
